Farris Award for Art and Social Media

Diane Farris Gallery is pleased to announce the creation of the Farris Award for Art and Social Media.

The Farris Award for Art and Social Media of $500 will be presented to an Emily Carr University of Art and Design undergraduate or graduate student whose work excels in the area of Art and Social Media. The artist will be selected by the  ECUAD Grad Jury based on the student’s work in the annual graduation exhibition.

Diane Farris and the Diane Farris Gallery have a long-standing association with Emily Carr and its alumni.  From the gallery's inception in 1984, Diane Farris has launched and nurtured the careers of countless emerging artists - a great many of whom attended Emily Carr.

The award has been established in conjunction with the Twitter/Art+Social Media exhibition in recognition of the close ties between art, artists and social media, and how social media is affecting the practice of visual artists.
