The Diane Farris Gallery 2005 Holiday Exhibition features new
work by gallery artists that reference the cold, frosty months
ahead. Freeze includes the work of Wesley Anderson, Shannon
Belkin, Roberta Bondar, David Burns, Judith Currelly, John Dennison,
Jesse Garbe, Grace Gordon-Collins, Angela Grossmann, Kathryn
Jacobi and Justin Ogilvie.
From Angela Grossmann’s mixed media vignette of a woman
on skis (inspired by vintage ski photographs) to serene chromogenic
photographs of the northern tundra by Roberta Bondar, and to
glacial lakes and familiar paintings of our coast mountains
by Judith Currelly and David Burns, this bracing collection
of paintings, drawings and photographs will welcome and refresh
you in the festive season.
We also will have a great selection of gift books for Christmas
and Chanukah - especially the just released, richly illustrated
biography A
Brush with Life by John Koerner. Books and DVDs of Dale
Chihuly projects including "Chihuly in the Light of Jerusalem"
and "Chihuly at Kew" (this spectacular exhibition
at Kew Gardens runs to end of January) as well as books by Roberta
Bondar and Phil Borges.
Finally, as we do every year, we invite visitors to bring make-up
samples, hotel toiletries, new or used warm socks, gloves, scarves
& sweaters etc. to donate to the women of W.I.S.H. It's
a big success every year and we are grateful for everyone's
kindness. http://www.wish-vancouver.net/
