The National Post's Saturday Night magazine received 19 medals — seven gold and 11 silver — at the June 1st National Magazine Awards, held this year in Toronto, Canada. The Gold Award for Illustration was given to Chris Woods for his August 19th, 2000 cover image "The Church of Krispy Kreme". Chris used himself as a model for the"Messiah of Doughnuts". The cover story is about the "coming" of Krispy Kreme to Canada.
