It might take a bit of searching. Go to 'Features' and then to 'More Features'. It's in a feature called 'Ad Nauseum'. I recorded some voice-overs to accompany the images. It's a CBC effort. It's really cool. Check out 'Vox Populi' in the Ad Nauseum feature for a funny comment about my paintings.

Chris Woods was commissioned to paint a cover story image for Saturday Night Magazine. The feature was about Krispy Kreme - the doughnut craze of the U.S. - entering the Canadian market. August 19, 2000 issue.

Chris has wanted to do a large double sided billboard for some time and, following his last exhibition (Dreamland) one of his collectors commissioned him to go ahead with it. We thought it might be enjoyable for us all to share the progress images with you as we got them until completion.

Beginning with the first thumbnails of the images planned to the end we will be posting the images for all to see as we get them. In the first sketchs, the top image is one side and the bottom is the other. Both sides will contain the same couple in the same car seen from the front and the back. Each image will be the opposite view of the couple looking into a crystal ball containing an ignition-key. The "twist" is that when seen from the front, the vehicle is on a Vancouver city street. The view from the back, however, shows the car on a desert highway similar to what one would see in a car advertisment. Chris will be shooting photos over the next few weeks and we'll post them as we get them. The piece will be shown in the gallery in the early spring.

A 22 min video of the making of this piece is being made by Chris's filmmaker/buddy Bob Fugger (who is also the male in the car!) It documents the entire progress of the project.
