China Renaissance
May 11-27, 2006
Opening reception May 11, 6-8 pm
This series is called "China Renaissance"
for two reasons. First, early Italian Renaissance art is my
best love. The essence of early Renaissance works, especially
of Piero della Francesca, Piero Del Pollaiolo, Giotto, Fra Angelico
and Andrea Mantegna, seems the final pursuit of my whole art
life. "Mongolian Portrait" is the language I use,
coming from being born and raised in the Mongolian grasslands.

Second, in recent years China's economy and society have been
going forward most rapidly in China's modern history. In some
aspects this is very similar to the social environment of Italian
Renaissance. So it's now a good chance to develop China's culture
and art. Though spaces are much smaller than the Renaissance
period, the energy, activity and the power of people wanting
to change themselves forward are the same.
I am experiencing both reasons and absorbing all the energy
to create my artworks. |
