| Arctic/Arctos Judith Currelly spends her summers as a bush pilot in Northern Canada and her winters painting in Victoria, B.C. Her paintings on plywood doorskin are laboriously layered, gouged and stained. Haunting images of man and animal's co-existence in the North evoke feelings of primitive mysticism. Currelly's new work is focused on the bears which inhabit the Northern landscape hence the name Arctic/Arctos. |
