Diane Farris Gallery is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of new paintings by Shannon Belkin.
Shannon is best known for her bold, yet sensitive portraits which capture the inner life of her subject. These works hang in corporate, private and institutional collections across the United States and Canada. Most recently, she has focused on the highly realistic still life and the reflective solitude that can occur when nature enters the realm of everyday.

In Shannon's newest body of work, entitled Nature's Prozac, her exquisitely detailed paintings of flowers, pods, and fruit symbolize the intricate interaction between humans and nature. Douglas Coupland comments: "...somewhere inside Shannon's new body of work she has made the critical connection between humanity and nature-the ability of heightened nature, (expressed within the size and detail of the painting,) to harness, redirect and calm the overloaded mind."
