My interest in photographing plants in their various stages goes beyond their obvious beauty. I have attempted to reveal and illuminate one stage (one frame) often unseen or appreciated by the viewer. I choose a moment in time when the plant is not at its peak of bloom. This is then isolated and no longer bound to the life span of that form.

Plants, particularly flowers, enhance our lives with their beauty on many levels. The reason for choosing a plant from sometimes seems inexplicable. I have attempted to bring the subconscious effect of these subjects into conscious awareness.
